This week’s “30-Second Therapist” deals with two entirely different questions that are remarkably the same. One reader asks why she continues to attract “old and creepy” men. Another says she's sick of her live-in guy acting like a baby. We alone are in charge!! CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT HOW: 30-Second Therapist
This Saturday evening, at 7:30 PM, before you go out, hear me on “The Saturday Café with Laura Smith,” on legendary 770 AM WABC Radio, and streaming LIVE on http://WABCradio.com at 7:30 PM EDT for the special “Love Episode.” Laura’s a terrific lady, and I’m delighted to do her show.
I’ll be in Palm Springs (with temps possibly reaching 120!!) and LA ( a little cooler) for the first 3 weeks in July. Check my FB, LI, & Twitter for photos and details. (If you’re not already connected to me on these Social Networks, find their addresses on my website: http://www.DrGilda.com.) People say the California heat is “unlike humid New York, because it’s dry.” Friends, the oven has dry heat, too, but I wouldn’t put my head in there!! My trip will be filled with adventure, media appearances, parties, great friends, and perhaps a search for a second residence… Stay tuned!

Kim had her makeup and hair people the ENTIRE time she was in the hospital. DON'T YOU WONDER ABOUT THE VALUES THIS BABY WILL BE TAUGHT??
ONLY IN HOLLY-WEIRD!! Katherine Jackson is suing AEG because the firm negligently retained Dr. Conrad Murray. Thus, AEG, like Murray, is responsible for Michael's death.
Except that Michael Jackson’s GHOST said Murray's innocent!
Last week, AEG CEO Randy Philips testified that Lionel Richie’s ex-wife told him Jackson’s ghost visited her, and told her it wasn't Dr. Murray’s fault!! MORE BIZARRE IS THAT THE JUDGE LET THAT "EVIDENCE" STAND ON THE COURT RECORD!!!
In this week’s “30-Second Therapist” column, one reader resents that her boyfriend has a young ex-wife, while another complains that things have changed in his LDR. Hopefully, you’re forever growing!! Otherwise, regressing will keep you down. Your thoughts?
Luther Vandross sings, “If you can’t be with the one you
love, love the one you’re with.” Is that
a solution to an unhappy union? In my Today
Show “30-Second Therapist,” a husband refuses to have sex with his wife—BUT the
wife’s ex is hot to trot. Another reader
has been with a separated man for 5+ years, but he’s dragging his feet on next
steps. And she’s finally become fed
up? Do you agree with my warnings about
splits and separations?
Poor Paris Jackson. She’s surrounded by chaos and upheaval at every turn in her family and now she may be questioning whether her adored father really was a pedophile. No wonder she’s deeply depressed, say experts.
Paris was devastated when her beloved father Michael died of an unintended overdose of anesthesia, when he was just 50.
He was the only parent she had ever known, since her biological mother Debbie Rowe, gave up all her parental rights to Paris and her older brother, Prince Michael, after they were born.
“Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine,” the then-11-year-old tearfully told the world at his funeral. “And I just want to say I love him so much.”
Now HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively that Paris has been terribly upset by the recent allegations made in legal documents filed by choreographer, Wade Robson, claiming that her dear father had sexually abused him for years when he was a child and teen.
Paris Is Confused About Who Her Father Was — Experts
It’s “really thrown her in a tailspin,” a source told HollywoodLife.
Of course it would! It would be upsetting enough if she was absolutely positive that the allegations were false, but what if Wade’s claims are making her wonder about who her father really was, points out celebrity therapist Dr. Gilda Carle, the 30-Second Therapist for Today Show
“She adored her father; he was her role model. But if she is now facing doubts about her father’s ethics and morals, it could also make her doubt everything about who she is and what her value is in the world,” explains Dr. Gilda.
Plus, Paris has been in the middle of major Jackson family fighting over her father’s estate.
Last year, on July 22, 2012, she sounded the alarm on Twitter that her grandmother and legal guardian Katherine Jackson, was missing and was allegedly kidnapped by several of her own children who were allegedly trying to have her sign over access to Michael’s fortune.
Then her aunt Janet Jackson, allegedly slapped Paris, called her a brat and tried to take away her cell phone on July 23, 2o12.
Paris Feels Alone & Unloved
No wonder Paris, could become depressed enough to allegedly cut her arm with a meat cleaver, take a large amount of Motrin, leave a suicide note, and call a suicide hotline, according to TMZ.
She must have felt so alone and unloved, with so many family members seemingly far more concerned with her father’s money, than with his daughter’s well-being.
It’s not surprising that she would have reconnected recently with her birth mother Debbie, possibly in a desperate search for some unconditional love.
“Seeing her closest family fighting over her money, would make her question her own value,” explains Dr. Gilda. “Every child wants to know that they are loved and all the money in the world can’t make up for that. Paris needs stability and love from a stable source who she can count on at all times.”
Clearly, Paris wasn’t getting that in the past few years since her father passed away.
Paris’ Depressing Twitter Feed
In fact, she was very vocal on Twitter for months expressing depressed, dark thoughts.
If only someone in her family had been paying attention to her Twitter feed, they could have easily seen how troubled she was.
Poignantly her last tweet, which she may have tweeted as she was allegedly attempting suicide, was a verse from the infamous Beatles song: “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”
She may have also been coping with a failed relationship. “Love is dumb and so are you,” she tweeted May 29. “People suck,” she tweeted the day before and that same day, May 28, she tellingly tweeted: “Don’t kiss someone one day if you plan on seeing someone else the next day.”
Paris Jackson’s Role Models: Other Tortured Artists?
Her Twitter page wallpaper was probably not coincidentally Vincent Van Gogh‘s “Starry Night.” Van Gogh was known for his struggles with depression — did Paris identify?
She certainly seemed to identify closely with Marilyn Manson, who infamously covered the M*A*S*H TV show theme song, “Suicide is Painless,” and with suicide victim Kurt Cobain, another of her heroes.
Was she seeking comfort from her own dark feelings of depression, by identifying with other artists who also suffered from depression?
Hopefully now that Paris allegedly took such a drastic step to scream out to her family and the world that she desperately needs help — she will get it.
The Jackson Family Needs To Support Paris
Let’s all hope that her grandmother, her biological mother and that at least some of her uncles and aunts can leave their money squabbling behind and shower Paris with the unconditional love and support that she needs. Plus, hopefully she will receive first rate professional and ongoing therapy with an excellent counselor who has had experience helping teenage girls.
“She has to learn to love herself too; learn to give herself unconditional love,” says Dr. Gilda. “Not everyone comes from a family that can give it, so she has to give it to herself.”
That’s right. Paris may sadly never be able to change the essential nature of the dysfunctional Jackson family, so even if she does get support and love from some family members — we’re sure her two brothers treasure her — she will also have to learn that she is as lovable, precious and valuable, as her father believed.
